Scientific scans reveal a chilling truth: the alien symbiote that bonded with him years ago left behind a <strong>&#8220;genetic echo.&#8221;<\/strong> This residual extraterrestrial DNA is slowly mutating his own, causing his spider-sense to misfire and his superhuman strength to fluctuate at the most life-threatening moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Rise of The Scourge<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The fragile peace of the city is shattered by the emergence of <strong>The Scourge<\/strong>, a gothic, techno-religious cult led by a charismatic zealot who views the symbiote as the next stage of human evolution. They don&#8217;t just want to kill Spider-Man; they want to &#8220;reclaim&#8221; the DNA inside Peter to perfect their goddess of darkness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Multitude of Shadows<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As the city falls into chaos, Peter is forced to seek out unlikely allies. <strong>Flint Marko (Thomas Haden Church)<\/strong>, still a fugitive living in the literal grains of the city, returns not as a villain, but as a tragic guardian seeking to protect his now-grown daughter from the Scourge&#8217;s influence.
