Evil has a new name: Fatherhood. Little Nicky 2: Hell of a Dad cranks up the heat, bringing back the shovel-faced, Popeye-chicken-loving Prince of Darkness for a demonic family reunion that proves the apple doesn’t fall far from the burning tree—even if that apple is currently having an identity crisis.

Twenty-six years after saving the world and stuffing his brothers into a flask, Nicky (Adam Sandler) has traded hellfire for a humidifier. Living a blissful, domesticated life in New York City with his beloved Valerie (Patricia Arquette), Nicky has become the ultimate helicopter parent, suppressing his demonic powers to bake cookies and listen to Ozzy Osbourne at a reasonable volume. But his biggest challenge isn’t the subway; it’s his son, Damien (Timothée Chalamet). A delicate mix of quarter-angel, quarter-devil, and half-human, Damien is a sensitive soul who rejects his dark heritage to pursue a career as a mumble-rap artist on SoundCloud, much to Nicky’s confusion.

But the peace is shattered when the Underworld undergoes a hostile corporate takeover. A slick, Silicon Valley-style demon known only as “The Algorithm” has digitized the Gates of Hell, transforming the pits of eternal damnation into a soulless, eco-friendly crypto-mining farm where sinners are tortured by buffering videos and endless two-factor authentication. Satan (Harvey Keitel), unable to cope with the new tech, has been forcibly retired to a shuffleboard community in Boca Raton, Florida.

With the Balance of Good and Evil dangerously disrupted, Nicky must return to the inferno. He teams up with his reformed, fashion-obsessed brother Adrian (Rhys Ifans) and the ghostly, foul-mouthed guide Mr. Beefy. However, Nicky has gone soft—he’s too nice to fight. To defeat the high-tech regime, he must bridge the generational gap and teach his gentle son how to unleash his inner beast. In a climax that pits heavy metal against auto-tune, father and son must “get in the flask” one last time to save Grandpa and restore the glorious, chaotic filth of Hell.
