3D models of the iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max have appeared in a case maker's design database — a sign that the supply chain is preparing for a fourth iPhone model in 2026. GSMArena first reported the listings.
The iPhone Duo is the outlier. Apple has released standard, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max models for years. A "Duo" name signals something different: a design with two distinct halves, according to supply chain rumors that have circulated since early 2026. Apple has not commented on the name or the device.
Case makers typically receive 3D files months before launch so they can tool up production. The arrival of these files suggests an announcement window in the first half of 2027, though Apple's schedule has not been confirmed.
The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max appearing alongside the Duo is less surprising. Those are expected to be Apple's standard flagship refresh, likely with an updated camera system and the first 2nm chip. What is notable is that the Duo is listed in the same database — not as a prototype, but as a shipping product.
Separately, Apple has reportedly been working on multiple foldable phones, according to a CNET report. Whether the Duo is one of them remains unclear.
The attention has even drawn a response from Samsung, which said in a social media post that "Tim Cook" bought a Galaxy Fold — a jab that Apple has not acknowledged.
Apple has not confirmed any of the devices in the database, and case makers have been wrong before. But the timing, the specificity of the names, and the fact that three models appear together suggest the 2027 iPhone lineup will look different from anything Apple has released.
